Description
This is a resin or white metal ship model kit.
185m in length, 9,800 tons of water displacement, 4 steam turbines, maximum speed of 32.5 knots
Five 6-inch triple turrets, eight 5-inch single anti-aircraft guns, eight 12.7mm machine guns, and four water reconnaissance aircraft
Commissioned in 1938 and deployed to the Philippines at the outbreak of the Pacific War.
In January 1942, she ran aground and was damaged and repaired.
In October 1942, during the Battle of Guadalcanal, she was engaged by a squadron of Japanese cruisers and badly damaged (Battle of Savo Island).
In June 1943, repairs are completed and she is deployed to the Mediterranean.
Participated in operations in the New Guinea area in 1944.
Intercepted Nishimura's fleet in the night battle of Surigao Strait.
In 1945, participated in the Battle of Luzon.
Sold to Argentina in 1951, deployed as "Nueve de Julio" until 1978, and dismantled in 1989.
Released by Nico Model, Poland.
