This is an injection-plastic ship model kit.
Pit-Road brings back their model kit of the U.S. Navy heavy cruiser CA-68 Baltimore from 1944! The Baltimore class was the first heavy cruiser designed after the expiration of the Washington Naval Treaty, and is highly regarded as a well-balanced offensive and defensive ship class. With a sharp bow and a long horizontal deck type hull with a high freeboard, it has excellent seakeeping, and the armor of each part has been strengthened compared to the previous class. The engine room layout uses a different separation method which greatly improves durability; it remained active for a long time after the war. The lead ship Baltimore took part in many battles, and was damaged by a typhoon when she took part in the Battle of Okinawa, but she survived the war, and was removed from the register in 1971.
This model kit can be built as either a waterline or full-hull version; the Baltimore's appearance in 1944 is reproduced, with her greatly enhanced anti-aircraft equipment. Two OS2U aircraft are included. Order yours today!
Please note that the photo-etched parts that were included with the original release of this kit are not included.
