Description

This is an injection-plastic ship model kit.

The HMS Venerable was a Royal Navy Colossus-class aircraft carrier. She was laid down in 1942, and was part of the Pacific Fleet; after the end of the war she was engaged in the transfer of Canadian and Australian POWs to their homelands before returning to England. She was sold to the Netherlands in 1948 and was renamed Karel Doorman, replacing her flight deck with an deck with an 8-degree angle to the left front, and replacing her hydraulic capapult with a steam capapult. Modernization and remodeling for jet aircraft operation was also carried out. She was then resold to Argentina in 1969 to become the Bainticinco de Mayo, and took part in the Falklands War that began in 1982. After that war was over, efforts were made to replace her main engine with a diesel engine, but she was retired in 1997 and dismantled in India in 2000.

This model kit builds into a waterline model that reproduces the appearance of the HMS Venerable in 1945; it comes with Corsair and Barracuda carrier-based aircraft. Place your order today!
