Description
This is an injection-plastic ship model kit.
The JMSDF ship DE-261 Wakaba was a converted Tachibana-class destroyer. Formerly the Nashi, she was sunk in an Allied air attack in July of 1945, but raised in 1954 and salvaged. In May of 1956 she was recommissioned as the Wakaba after a complete rebuild and refitting. Just like the original, this 1/700 scale kit is based on the Tachibana, but is a completely new tooling. This model depicts the Wakaba as she appeared post-1958, when refit with the massive parabola antenna for the SPS-8B radar. Waterline model, 142mm long.
