This is an injection-plastic ship model kit.
The Hatakaze type is the third-generation missile escort ship of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force, and the first ship of the class, the Hatakaze, was put into service in March 1986. She is the first missile escort ship to introduce a gas turbine propulsion engine, and also the only escort ship equipped with a bulwark on the bow to protect the missile launcher from waves. The standard missile launcher is installed from the rear to the front. She was incorporated into the 1st Escort Flotilla due to the reorganization in October 2014, but in March 2020, that position was handed over to her successor, the Aegis ship Maya, and her type was changed to a training ship.
This model kit can be built as a waterline or full-hull version. The kit reproduces the Hatakaze during the last time she was an escort ship, with various satellite communication antennas added. Decals are included for the ship's signs and walking belts, and photo-etched parts are included for the flags and nameplate. Order yours today!
