This is an injection-plastic ship model kit.
The Mutsuki type is a destroyer that was planned as the same type as the previous Kamikaze type, and was completed in 1926 as a ship equipped with a 61cm torpedo launcher to improve her lightning strike capability. Many improvements have been made, such as the double curved bow and the expansion of the flare; her displacement was also increased and her speed decreased. The restoration performance was also reduced due to the increase in her center of gravity. Performance improvement work was carried out due to the Tomozuru Incident and the 4th Fleet Incident. At the beginning of the Pacific War in 1941, Mutsuki organized the destroyers Kisaragi, Yayoi and Mochizuki and participated in the Wake Island capture operation. She sank in the Solomon Sea in August of the following year due to a B-17 bomber attack.
This model kit from Pit-Road can be built as a full-hull or waterline version; decals are included for the Kisaragi, Yayoi and Kikuzuki. Photo-etched parts are also included for the bridge window, middle and rear gun seat stays, skid beam, signal stand, directional loop antenna, 25mm triple machine gun, 25mm machine gun, No. 13 electric probe, hawser reel, life ring, etc. A special submarine instep target is also included.
