Fujimi's 1/700-scale model kit of the Japanese Navy's heavy cruiser Mogami returns with newly designed parts! This waterline kit reproduces her appearance from the beginning of the Pacific War to the Battle of Midway in June 1942. The shape of the hull cross-section is different from that of the Suzuya and Kumano, and the standard portholes at the time of war are provided with special parts. A new mold is used to unify differences in the equipment, etc., and some divisions are also made to make painting easier. The 9mm cutter is made into two parts for ease of painting, the stand is a separate part, and it's possible to select a deck-integrated mold. The 12m inner fire launch can also express the shape without canvas. The canvas and wheelhouse/machine room canopy of the 11-meter inner boat are separate parts; the carrier-mounted boat mount is molded with uneven shapes and light holes for a more precise shape. The chrysanthemum crest on the bow is newly molded, as are the port lights and lifebuoys. Decals are included for the ship's name on the stern, and for the while mast lines too; more decals for the warship flags, national flags, and Hinomaru of the shipboard aircraft are included as well.
