1/700 Special 42 Japanese Navy Aircraft Carrier Unryu (As Built/Final Version)

New parts have been added to the "Unryu," the first ship of the Unryu class, which was planned to enhance aircraft carrier strength before the outbreak of the Pacific War!

- The product is based on the appearance of the ship as it was completed in August 1944, and you can choose to build it in either its initial form or its final form with additional rocket launchers.
- Unlike Amagi and Katsuragi, the simplified construction shape is not seen, and it reproduces the characteristic rounded sponson shape.
To unify the differences in the reproduction of equipment based on the product's release timing, new design parts are included, with some designed for easy painting.
- The Type 13 radar has a truss structure with sculpted detail, and the aerial part is also represented in shape with new included parts.
- The Type 21 Model 6 radar for the bridge and the insulator base for fixing elements on the front side are expressed with more delicate sculpting than conventional parts.
- The 12.7cm twin high-angle gun A1 modification 1 is divided into 6 parts to enhance modeling resolution compared to the existing 2-part version.
- The 9-meter cutter is split into 2 parts for painting considerations, with a separate part for the stand, allowing a choice between integrated deck molding or separate parts.
- The 12-meter inshore boat has a separate part for the canvas and the wheelhouse/mechanical room canopy to facilitate painting.
The assembly and adhesion of all paints can be done later.
- The boat body and loading surface are divided into 3 parts to eliminate the need for masking after painting.
- The 12-meter inshore launch can also be represented without a canvas.
- The boat rack is expressed with concave and convex shapes and lightweight holes, enhancing the precision of the model.
- A new chrysanthemum emblem is provided for the bow.
- A pair of navigation lights, which were previously omitted from the model, have been added as extra parts.
- Decals including the ship's name on the stern (in naval ship color) have been added.
- The Type 96 25mm triple/ single machine guns come in a 2-part structure that reduces painting and separation work as standard equipment.
- Four types (Zero Fighter Type 52, Type 21 (bomb-equipped), Suisei Bomber Type 12, Tenzan Torpedo Bomber) are included, with 6 of each type.
- Special attack aircraft Sakura Flower is included with 6 units.

- The hull is composed of left and right halves.
- The portholes on the side reproduce a state where the number has been reduced based on combat lessons.
- The anchor chain deck at the bow is a molded single part with anti-slip strip patterns, bollards, and a horn cleat expressed in three-dimensional sculpture.

- The flight deck is a single part, with the elevator as a separate component.
- The surface is sculpted with various shapes for aircraft arresting rings, landing arrestor wires, and expansion joints.
- Windbreak fences are reproduced on the flight deck.
- The 21 Type radar and two searchlights on the flight deck can be built in either stowed or deployed states.
- The elevator can be assembled in either an elevated position or a lowered position into the hangar.
- The truss structure underside of the flight deck is expressed in three-dimensional sculpting.
- The crane on the flight deck is in the stowed position.

- The bridge base is a single molded part using slide molding technology.
- The funnel is divided into upper and lower parts, with the internal guide plates as separate parts for detail.
- The funnel cap is precisely sculpted to appear "open."
- The bridge (air defense command center) includes parts for binoculars that enhance precision.

- High-angle gun mounts and machine gun positions on the side are separate parts, with detailed sculpting for the floor strip patterns.
- The machine gun mounts and high-angle gun sponson supports are reproduced with finely detailed molded parts.

- Various side fittings such as radio aerial supports and landing lights are made into separate parts.
- The 25mm triple machine guns are precision molded and structured in a way that makes painting easier, with 2-part construction standard since the 2018 mold.

- A total of 22 aircraft of 4 types are included.
- The types are "Zero Fighter Type 52," "Zero Fighter Type 21 (bomb-equipped)," "Suisei," and "Tenzan," which were possessed by the 601st Air Group after commissioning.
- Four Type 52 Zero Fighters are included, designed with separate parts for the canopy and propeller for painting considerations.
- Four Type 21 Zero Fighters (bomb-equipped) are included, with separate parts for the drop tanks on both wings and the 250 kg bomb under the fuselage.
- The Type 12 Suisei has separate parts for the canopy, propeller, and 60 kg bomb, making painting easier.
- Four Tenzan torpedo bombers are included, with separate parts for the characteristic four-bladed propeller and the 250 kg bomb under the fuselage.
- Six "Special Attack Aircraft Sakura Flower" are included, which were stored in the hangar during transport operations at the time of sinking.

- The molded color for the main parts is a light green, considering the coloration during anti-submarine camouflage painting.
- The aircraft and machine gun parts are in gray.

Included Decals: 2 types
- One decal for the camouflage pattern on the flight deck and markings for the aircraft.
- One decal for the ship's name on the stern and white lines for the supports.

Included Contents: 66 runners, 1 assembly instruction manual, 2 decals.

Please be aware that due to monitor and image resolution issues, the appearance of colors may differ from the actual product.
