1/700 Scale Imperial Japanese Navy Aircraft Carrier Taiho (Wood Deck)

Introducing the Taiho, a distinctively armored carrier with an enclosed bow and a smokestack integrated with the bridge, now featuring additional new parts!

This unpainted kit requires assembly and painting. It is a 1/700 scale waterline model, excluding the hull bottom. The product combines traditional "Special Series" molds with newly designed additional parts.

Kit Features:

  • Historical Accuracy: Depicts the Taiho from its completion to the Battle of the Philippine Sea (June 1944).
  • Wood Deck: The flight deck is modeled with detailed engravings representing the wooden deck.

Newly Designed Parts:

  • Type 21 Radar: Features delicate engravings, including the insulator base for the front element.
  • 12-meter Launch: Separate parts for canvas, pilothouse, and engine room roof for easy painting and assembly.
  • 12-meter Internal Motor Boat: Features three-part construction with separate hull and deck parts for easy painting and assembly.
  • Bow Chrysanthemum Crest: Newly designed part.
  • Side Lights and Life Buoys: Additional parts for increased detail.
  • Stern Name Decals: Includes decals for the stern name in ship color.
  • Type 96 25mm Triple Machine Guns: Two-part construction for easier painting and enhanced detail.
  • Aircraft: Includes four types: Zero Fighter Type 52, Type 21 (armed with bombs), Suisei, and Tenzan, representing the aircraft during the Battle of the Philippine Sea.

  • Hull and Deck:
    • The hull sides are one-piece molds, eliminating the need for seam removal.
    • Sealed anchor chain deck with visible internal details through openings.
    • Engraved portholes and eaves.

    • Wood deck engravings from bow to stern.
    • Elevators can be positioned up or down.

    • Searchlights in stowed position, crane in standing position.
  • Bridge and Superstructure:
