This is an injection-plastic ship model kit.

The Japanese battleship Kongo, from its reinforced anti-aircraft armament during the Battle of Leyte Gulf to its final appearance, is made with finely sculpted parts! Precise outfitting parts have been added to the standard specification (STD), and the Zero type floatplane and searchlight are made with clear parts for realism. This 1/700-scale model kit is unpainted, requiring assembly with adhesive and painting; it is an offshore model that does not include the bottom of the ship. This kit is made with the conventional (Toku series) mold.

• This kit is made to be glued, characterized by detailed construction that pursues modeling.
  
• The molding color is mainly gray, so you can enjoy painting as you assemble it.
• The kit is based on the appearance of the Kongo from Operation Sho-Ichi-Go in October 1944 to her final appearance.
• Equipped with No. 21 and No. 22 radars on the bridge, and No. 13 radar on the rear mast.
• Equipped with additional machine gun mounts on the canopies of the second and third main guns.

• Two searchlights removed, 25mm triple machine guns added.

• The portholes, a feature of the later stages of the war, are shown blocked off with convex molding.
• The upper deck is a single piece with delicate carvings on the wooden deck.
• The bridge base is a one-piece part made with a slide mold.
• The linoleum covering on the aircraft work deck is provided as a separate part from the upper deck.
• Only the Kongo has a slanted boundary with the wooden deck, which is reproduced with a special part.
• The chimney is a two-part structure with the left and right sides glued together.
• The strip patterns on the floor of the anti-aircraft gun mounts and other parts are rendered with intricate carvings.
• The funnel cap is removed, and the structure is full of precision.
• The main gun canopy is a Kongo/Hiei-exclusive part with a flat side shape.
• The main gun is a one-piece gun barrel and canvas, with a fixed elevation angle.
• The main gun nozzle is open due to the use of a slide mold.
• The 25mm twin machine gun comes with additional precisely sculpted parts.
• A two-part structure that makes it easy to paint different parts, and is a mold part used in 2018.
• The bridge includes binocular telescope parts that increase the sense of precision.
• The shipboard floatplanes include two Zero-type seaplane observation aircraft (molded in gray), and one Zero-type observation plane (molded in transparent material).
• The main parts, ship bottom plate, carrier-based aircraft, machine gun parts, etc., are molded in gray.
• Searchlight parts are molded in transparent material.
• Includes split-design parts that take into consideration quality improvement, commonality, and painting work
