This is an injection-plastic ship model kit.

Fujimi brings us a special edition of their 1/700-scale model kit of the Imperial Japanese Navy aircraft carrier Taiho, now featuring photo-etched parts and a wood deck decal!

• This kit features a full-hull design that reproduces the ship down to the bottom of her hull, and includes a display stand for showcasing the finished model. 
• The lower hull is constructed from a single-piece molding, with the propellers and rudder provided as separate parts.
• In addition to the standard kit parts, the set includes precision 25mm anti-aircraft guns (triple, twin, and single mounts) featuring separate barrels and mounts. The Type 96 25mm guns are designed as two-piece assemblies, making it easy to paint the barrel (gunmetal) and the base (hull color) separately.
• The flight deck is modeled with a wood deck finish, reflecting one of the prevailing theories regarding its actual construction (as opposed to a latex finish).
• The decal sheet includes markings such as the "Hinomaru" (rising sun) for carrier-based aircraft, deck lines, and the naval ensign.
• Includes photo-etched parts to capture fine details that are difficult to reproduce with standard injection-molded parts. The photo-etched set includes railings, ladders, funnel details, masts, radar arrays, direction-finding antennas, boat davits, cranes, and elevators.
• The wood deck decals features a laser-cut surface finish that realistically reproduces a natural, irregular woodgrain pattern. Pre-cut to fit the kit's parts, the decal allows for the easy and realistic reproduction of intricate wood deck patterns, including fine lines, that are difficult to achieve through painting alone.
