This is an injection-plastic ship model kit.

The Mogami-class multi-function mine warfare frigate, designated 30FFM, is a cutting-edge escort ship specialized for minesweeping missions against advanced mines, equipped with mine countermeasure sonar, autonomous underwater mine detectors (UUVs), and mine-clearing unmanned surface vehicles (USVs). The first ship, Mogami, was commissioned in April 2022 (the second ship, Kumano, was commissioned first). Construction and commissioning continued smoothly thereafter, with the seventh ship, Niyodo, commissioned in May 2025, and the eighth ship, Yubetsu, commissioned in June of the same year. These two ships are equipped with vertical launch systems (VLS) from the time of commissioning, a system that was previously only available at a later date on their predecessors.

• New parts include a foredeck equipped with a VLS (Vertical Launch System) form the time of commissioning.
