This is an injection-plastic ship model kit.
DDG-179 Maya was commissioned in March 2020 as the third-generation Aegis destroyer in the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force. She is equipped with the latest ballistic missile defense capability (BMD5.1) and the latest Aegis system, and is also equipped with the JMSDF's first CETPS (Cooperative Engagement Capability System), and her capabilities are dramatically greater than previous Aegis ships. The ship's stealth performance has also been improved, making it the largest destroyer except for the helicopter-equipped Hyga and Izumo types. At the time of her commissioning, she had a conventional paint job, but was later changed to a low-visibility paint job.
This model kit from Pit-Road can be built as a waterline or full-hull version; satellite antenna parts added after her completion are included. The nine long and short whip antennas are also reproduced with plastic parts. One SH-60K patrol helicopter is included, as are low-visibility decals. Color photo-etched parts for the flag, flagpole, and ship nameplate (4cm x 1cm) are also included. Place your order today!
