The Chokai, the fourth ship of the Takao-class heavy cruisers, characterized by its large bridge, is now a 1/700-scale waterline model kit from Aoshima! With a parts configuration that focuses on the essentials, it is simple and easy to assemble for accurate reproduction. Newly designed equipment such as machine guns, aircraft catapults, and onboard boats have been added. This kit effectively expresses the precision and intricacy of this compact scale.

This kit was made with slide molds to achieve precise and accurate molding; updates have been made to the aircraft and various equipment, with a focus on the destroyer's main guns and machine guns. The following outfitting parts have been renewed with newly-molded parts:
