This is an injection-plastic ship model kit.

1/700 Special 33 Imperial Japanese Navy Battleship Mutsu

One of the Big Seven, the Nagato-class battleship No. 2 "Mutsu," is now available with newly added parts!

- This product is modeled after the appearance of the Nagato-class battleship No. 2 "Mutsu" from December 1941 (at the start of the war) to June 1943 (the final appearance).

To standardize the replication of equipment variations due to the product release period, new design parts have been prepared, with some parts designed for ease of painting.
- The 12.7 cm twin high-angle gun A type is subdivided into 5 parts, enhancing the modeling resolution from the existing 2 parts.
- The 9-meter cutter is split into 2 parts for painting considerations, with a separate part for the stand, allowing for the choice between a separate part and a molded deck (except for some areas).
- The 11-meter inshore boat has the canvas and the canopy of the steering room/machine room made into separate parts for painting ease.
- The 12-meter inshore launch can also be represented without the canvas.
- The ship's boat racks feature a textured surface and light holes, enhancing the precision of the model.
- A new chrysanthemum emblem is provided for the bow.
- New navigation lights have been added to enhance previously omitted details.
- Decals for the ship's name on the stern (with military color fill) and white lines on the mast have been included.
- The Type 96 25 mm twin machine gun now comes standard with a 2-part structure that reduces painting/separation work.

Hull
- The hull is molded as a single piece for both port and starboard sides.
- Exclusive parts for Mutsu replicate the position of the fairlead and anchor view, which are different from Nagato.
- The hull features meticulously sculpted external electrical circuits all around.

Decks
- The upper deck is a single structure with finely sculpted wooden decking.
- Features like air ducts on the deck are represented with prominent sculpting, and the wooden deck has a depth suitable for wash painting.
- The base of the bridge (bridge deck) is a single part created using slide mold technology.

Bridge and Mast
- The secondary gun control station, a distinguishing feature from the first ship Nagato, is represented with four windows as a dedicated part.
- The lower bridge is a unified structure part made with slide mold technology.
- The bridge is assembled in layers, with details like grating floors represented.
- Each layer of the bridge includes finely detailed equipment parts, including binoculars.
- The mast's tripod is divided into 2 parts to replicate the outer shape.
- The cross tree and top yard use a combination of integrated and separate parts to recreate complex shapes.

Main Gun Turrets and Funnel
- The main gun is molded with the barrel and canvas as a single piece, with a fixed elevation angle.
- The main gun barrel has an open form due to the use of slide mold technology.
- The funnel is structured with two parts glued together, and the steam discharge pipe is a separate part.
- The funnel cap is precision molded to enhance realism.

Rear Mast and Aviation Equipment
- The aviation work deck employs slide mold technology, recreating the deck and side walls.
- Two Type 95 water reconnaissance planes are included in gray molding color.

- Additional Notes
- The strip patterns on the deck floor, such as the high-angle gun mounts, are expressed with fine sculpting.
- The 25 mm machine guns are designed with precision modeling, using a 2-part structure that makes painting and separation easy, with 2018-used mold parts included as standard.
- The molded color for major parts, hull bottom plate, aircraft, and gun parts is gray.

- Included Decals: 2 types
- Decals include the naval ensign, rising sun flag, and markings for the aircraft.
- Three sizes of naval ensigns are provided, scaled to 1/700 from actual sizes of 10, 6, and 3 widths.
- The rising sun markings on the aircraft include versions without white borders, typical of the later war period.
- Decals for draft markings, the chrysanthemum emblem on the bow, and the ship's name on the stern (in two colors: gold and military color fill) are included.

Included Content:
36 runners x 36 - Assembly instructions x 1 - Decals x 3

Please note that due to monitor or image resolution issues, the colors may appear differently from the actual product.
