Description

This is an injection-plastic ship model kit.

The Musashi, the second Yamato-class battleship and the last battleship built by Japan, was laid down at Nagasaki Shipyard and Machinery Works in March 1938. Her construction included improvements to the problems found on the Yamato, and her flagship equipment was further enhanced. It was possible for her construction to be concealed because she was built at a private shipyard. Her main gun, at 46cm, could only be manufactured at the Kure Naval Arsenal in Hiroshima, so for counterintelligence reasons she avoided transporting it on private vessels. The Musashi was put into service in August of 1942, departing for the Truck Islands, a strategic base for the Japanese Navy. In February 1943, the Musashi became the flagship of the Combined Fleet.

This model kit from Pit-Road can be assembled as a full-hull or waterline version, and includes the Musashi's distinctive central structure and back of the bridge. One each of the Zero-type seaplane and Zero-type reconnaissance seaplane are included as well. Order yours today!
