This is an injection-plastic ship model kit.
From the manufacturer:
At the start of the 20th century, countries around the world began upgrading their naval strength. This coincided with the HMS Dreadnought and the HMS Invincible entering service with the UK's Royal Navy.
In 1911, Japan implemented "Plan 88", building four battlecruisers based on the Lion-class battlecruises of the UK's Royal Navy. The Kongo was the first of these four battlecruisers, designed and built in August on 1913 by Vickers in the UK. The first of the Kongo-class battlecruisers, she was also the last Japanese capital ship built outside of Japan. The Kongo is a milestone of Japanese naval history.
The Kongo participated in WWI, mainly deployed to the Pacific for escort missions. After WWI, the Kongo went through many refits and was eventually upgraded to battleship status. The battleship Kongo saw much action in WWII, eventually being sunk by the US submarine USS Sealion northwest of Taiwan on November 21, 1944.
This kit comes molded in grey and red, and decals are included.
