This is an injection-plastic ship model kit.
From the manufacturer:
The Kimikawa Maru was the second Kamikawa Maru-Class cargo ship built by the Kawasaki Dockyard Co. in Kobe. On July 15, 1937, she was launched and went into service on the Japan-New York route. The ship was taken over by the IJN and converted into an auxiliary seaplane tender on July 6, 1941, and assigned to the 5th Fleet on September 1st. Later she was re-rated a converted transport. On October 23, 1944 she was sunk by the USS Sawfish at Cape Bojeador. The rail system for the seaplane on the aft well deck and catapults are the distinguishing characteristics of this ship.
This water line kit is molded in grey and clear plastic and includes decals. Separately-sold photo-etched parts can be purchased to detail this kit.
