an injection-plastic ship model kit.
Tamiya's newly-tooled Shinano is a masterpiece, the kind of kit that begs to be built despite the rather inglorious history of the subject (based on the same hull as the giant battleship Yamato, the Shinano was the largest aircraft carrier built during WWII, but the U.S. submarine Archerfish sent her to the bottom with four torpedoes before she was even fully fitted out).
Everywhere you look on the kit, Tamiya has crisply reproduced the little details that distinguish this one-of-a-kind vessel. Comes with a mixture of 32 late-war attack aircraft, molded in transparent plastic. Highly recommended.
