Pit-Road brings us their 1/700 German Cruiser Admiral Graf Spee 1937 with Flag & Ship Name Plate with Photo-Etched Parts. The Deutschland class of ships were designed under severe restrictions due to the Treaty of Versailles; they were commonly known as pocket battleships. The Admiral Graf Spee was the third one built, entering service in 1936. She participated in the sixth British Coronation Memorial Ceremony, receiving attention from many countries; just before World War II broke out, she was dispatched to the South Atlantic's merchant sea lanes. After engaging with three British ships at the Battle of the River Plate, she was damaged and retreated to the Port of Montevideo in Uruguay, where she was ultimately scuttled at the captain's orders and sank.
This kit reproduces the Admiral Graf Spee's appearance during her commisson and before renovation; it can be built as a waterline or full-hull version. Color photo-etched parts are included for the flag, flagpole and ship nameplate. Order yours today!
