Aoshima's "Full Hull" series 1/700-scale model kit of the IJN battleship Mutsu, the second ship of the Nagato-class battleships, is finally getting a long-awaited renewal! The outfitting parts have been newly researched and designed; by incorporating numerous slide mechanisms into the molds, the intricate details at 1/700-scale are accurately reproduced with even greater precision.

The Mutsu was equipped with powerful 41cm guns, and was considered one of the world's strongest battleships, known as the Big Seven. For a long time, she was one of the representative battleships of the Imperial Japanese Navy, but during the Pacific War, she did not engage in direct combat with enemy ships, and sank in 1943 due to an explosion accident at Hashirajima anchorage in Hiroshima Port.

The Full Hull-series model kit of the Mutsu features a well-designed parts configuration, making it easy to assemble while accurately reproducing the ship. Numerous machine guns, anti-aircraft guns, aircraft catapults, and other various outfitting parts have been added with new molds and a new design, and eight metal gun barrels are included!
