This is a resin or white metal ship model kit.
The M15 class of ships were ordered under the Wartime Emergency Shipbuilding Program. They were monitor ships for coastal artillery designed with the assumption that the armament would be 9.2-inch guns for cruisers.
The M-21 was completed in July 1915. Her main gun was a BL 9.2-inch Mk.VI single gun. Another 12-pounder gun and a 6-pound anti-aircraft gun were diverted from an Edgar-class protected cruiser. The engine was a three-stage steam engine with 600 horsepower, capable of 11 knots. She was in the Mediterranean Theater since September 1915, and was then took part in the Suez Canal defense mission. She moved to Dover in July 1917, and changed her gun to a BL 7.5-inch Mk.III. She participated in the Ostend raid in April 1918, and sank on October 20 of that year.
