Description
This is an injection-plastic ship model kit.
The HMS Glowworm was built in 1936 by John I. Thornycroft & Company, and spent her early career monitoring missions for the Spanish Civil War. After World War II began, she handled escort and patrol duties in the North Sea, and in April 1940 she engaged the German heavy cruiser General Hipper in battle, during which the Glowworm was badly damaged and sunk.
This kit depicts the Glowworm as she was equipped before that fatal battle, with her main gun and torpedo launch tube intact, and photo-etched parts are included for the handrails, bulwarks, stairs and ladders.
