The Liesse II was first introduced in 1996 as a substantial successor to Hino Motors' small bus, Rainbow RB/AB, after being OEMed by the Toyota Coaster. The only difference in appearance from the Coaster was the emblem. In 2016, in response to the Coaster's model change, the second generation of the Liesse II debuted. Thanks to the strong sales network for large vehicle users, the Liesse II is seeing active use by route bus operators. This is the Hino Liesse II's first appearance in the "Tomica Vintage NEO" lineup.

This is the basic grade LX, which is characterized by silver window sashes and the driver's door area painted in the body color, and this model has the optional folding door specification. A two-tone white/lavender color scheme has been chosen, often seen on shuttle buses. It also has the early type of bumper without radar.
