The 5th-gen Subaru Sambar (KS/KV) launched in 1990 with a 660cc engine meeting new kei car standards. The retro-styled "Dias Classic" trim debuted in 1993 as a premium variant, sparking the late-1990s retro kei car trend. Its charming design remains popular today, often seen in mobile shops.

Following the well-received 2021 release, this N249f version recreates the special 1998 40th Anniversary model. Despite its compact ~6cm length, the passenger sliding door opens for added play value.
