The Haiyan Tang was a part of the Xiyang Lou (Western Mansion) section of the Old Summer Palace in Beijing, China. One amazing feature of the Haiyan Tang was a huge water clock fountain, surrounded by statues of humans with heads of each of the animals from the Chinese zodiac. All of the heads were looted from the palace in 1860's Second Opium War; while many of them have been returned to China, half of them are currently missing, among them the snake. Infinity Studio now brings us a reproduction of the snake-headed statue, based on descriptions in literature! This interesting piece of history can now join your collection -- order yours now!
