Description

This is an injection-plastic military vehicle model kit.

Due to the great evolution of tanks in World War II, various anti-tank weapons and guns were developed in each country. One of the anti-tank guns used by the German Army was the 5cm anti-tank gun PaK38. It was developed by Rheinmetall in 1938 as a successor to the 3.7cm anti-tank gun PaK36, which was active in the Spanish Civil War and early in World War II. Production of the PaK38 began in 1939, and deployment began in 1940. It is said that about 9,500 of this gun were built. Its caliber was 50mm, and its maximum range was 3,000 yards. Although it was not available in time for the Western Front in the early stages of the war, it was used against the Soviet Army, and on the Eastern Front, it struggled against the Soviet T-34 tank. The PaK38 was operated by a crew of five; it was mainly mounted to the Sd.Kfz.10, a 1-ton half-track, but it was also mounted to a tank chassis and used as a self-propelled gun.

This 1/6-scale model kit exceeds a length of 50cm! The barrel can be moved up, down, left and right after completion, and the peep windows and armor flaps are also movable. Its sharp form is carefully reproduced; the barrel is hollow and the muzzle brake at the tip is precisely recreated, as is the base of the barrel, gun cradle and operation handles. The breech, the closing mechanism and the recoil can be enjoyed in the same was as the real thing; the shield firmly reproduces the double structure that is characteristic of the PaK38. The lower armor plate can be opened and closed via a hinge, and the details of the carriage are also precise. The gun can be changed from stationary to traveling mode after assembly as well.
