About the real vehicle:
The Cromwell Mk. IV, which began production in 1943, served as a main battle tank for the British Army during the latter half of World War II. It was developed as an evolution of earlier models such as the Crusader and Centaur, featuring a newly developed Meteor engine as a major characteristic. This engine was an improvement on the renowned Merlin engine, originally used in fighter planes, providing significantly more power compared to the Liberty engine used in previous cruiser tanks. This enhancement improved the mobility of cruiser tanks, which had been increasing in armor thickness and size. Initially, the Cromwell was equipped with the British 6-pounder gun, but the Cromwell Mk. IV was armed with a 75mm tank gun with a 36.5 caliber. This increased its anti-tank capabilities and firepower. After the Normandy landings, it appeared on the European front and engaged with German armored units, and was also deployed in the Korean War after the war.
