The Azuma was built for the Imperial Japanese Navy in the late 1890's and served Japan between 1900.7.28 and 1944.2.15.
Participating in most of the naval battles in the Russo-Japanese War, this warship was 137.9m long and 18/1m wide, weighing 9,370 tonnes. Although never formally classified as a training ship, the Azuma completed 5 training cruises during its time after the war, and saw no action in WWI. The ship was disarmed and hulked in 1941, before it was damaged in an American carrier raid in 1945, after which is was scrapped in 1946.
