This is an injection-plastic aircraft model kit.

This kit from Models Vit features the Yak-9T Soviet WWII Fighter in 1/48 scale with a new mold for the wings and instrument panel! The paint and marking scheme for this model is based on the Captain of the Normandie-Niemen French Fighter Regiment in WWII. The French air squadron was one of only 3 allied air units from the western fronts to fight directly alongside the Soviet military through the end of the war. The Yak-9 was the main fighter aircraft for the Soviet Air Force developed to replace the heavier Yak-7. The Yak-9 had a more powerful engine and was much lighter than its older counterpart, and therefore was able to carry the same level of armament. This combination of firepower and mobility made the Yak-9 the perfect fighter/bomber-interceptor to be mass-produced for the Soviets. The "T" variant of the Yak-9 was notable for having a nose-mounted 37mm cannon instead of the standard 20mm. The model is 180mm in length, and 203mm in width when completed.
