This is an injection-plastic aircraft model kit.
The S.6A is an improved version of the S.6 water racing aircraft designed by British Supermarine's famous designer R.J. Mitchell for the 1929 Schneider Trophy Race. This aircraft was used as a "spare machine" for the newly designed S.6B for the 1931 Schneider Trophy Race, with two S.6s (N247 and N248) with newly designed floats. This aircraft is equipped with an improved control surface and has an expanded radiator area. It was also equipped with a Rolls-Royce "R" twelve-cylinder water-cooled V-type engine with an output of 1,900 hp, the same as the S.6. N247 was damaged in an accident before the race, and N248 never took part in the race; it is now on display at the Solent Sky Air Museum in the UK.
This model kit from Mikro Mir comes with newly molded S.6A float parts and photo-etched parts, painting mask seals, and decals for S.6A N247 and N248. A wooden jig for assembly is also included. Place your order today!
