This is an injection-plastic jet aircraft model kit.
The Miyokan Gurevich MiG-31 (NATO reporting name "Foxhound") is a supersonic interceptor designed to replace the MiG-25 Foxbat. The first prototype made its maiden flight on September 16, 1975.
The variant depicted in this kit is the modernized MiG-31BM. The modernization consists of upgrades to the Zaslon radar, cockpit (in particular, the Weapons Systems Officer), and weapons. The tracking range of the Zaslon more than doubled after the upgrades. The number of weapon hardpoints under the wings has increased from two to four, and MiG31-BM is now utilizing the R-73 instead of the outdated R-60 short range missile.
This scale kit is molded in grey plastic and includes photo-etched parts, clear parts, and decals.
