This is an injection-plastic jet aircraft model kit.
This 1/48 scale model kit of the McDonnell Douglas Phantom FG.1 from Airfix is a completely new mold! This model accurately reproduces the aircraft's distinctive features, such as the Rolls-Royce "Spey" engine and extended nose landing gear, which were modified for its introduction into the British Navy. The kit features over 270 parts! The enlarged air intakes are molded using slide-molding technology, allowing for detailed engraving around the entire circumference. A wide variety of weapons are included, such as Skyflash missiles, RN 2-inch rockets, Sidewinder missiles, 1000-pound bombs, and external fuel tanks.
