The Do X is a passenger flying boat manufactured by Dornier in Germany. This aircraft was the world's largest heavy-duty aircraft at the time, developed as a luxury liner to replace passenger transport on the Atlantic route by airship, and was designed by Claude Dornier, who was also in charge of the Zeppelin airship. Three of this massive aircraft were manufactured, two of which were ordered from Italy. The cabin had a three-story structure, and the middle-rise guest rooms were equipped with a well-furnished dining room and bedroom, a smoking lounge and bar, and a central salon with high-class carpets. It was initially equipped with 12 525-horsepower Bristol Jupiter air-cooled star-type nine-cylinder engines, but later it was replaced with 12 high-output 610-horsepower Curtis Conqueror water-cooled V-type 12-cylinder engines, making its total output a possible 7,200 horsepower. The engines were mounted on a set of two parallel skewers housed in a box-shaped nacelle; under the engine nacelle on the upper surface of the main wing, a bar was provided to prevent personnel from falling, which also served as a reinforcement support for the nacelle. The two aircraft ordered by Italy were intended to be used on civilian routes, but they were not actually operated, and after the engines were replaced with water-cooled V-type 12-cylinder 570-horsepower Fiat A.22Rs, the Italian Air Force I made an experimental flight.

The fuselage and main wings in this model kit are made of FRP; it also includes resin parts, photo-etched parts, painting mask seals and decals for one version. Order yours today, and add this amazing aircraft to your own collection!
