This is a train model intended for display purposes only (i.e., it does not run on a track).

From Aoshima come this fantastically detailed 1/45 scale model kit of the diesel locomotive DD51 including a display stand. The engine is fully reproduced from the intake and exhaust to the transmission, plus the head and tail lights light up. The engine covering and cab roof can be removed to show the engine components and the controls in the engine room.

The display stand is reversible with tracks on one side and on the reverse side a maintenance pit. An engineer figure is also included with optional parts to build it in one of several different poses, and with summer or winter clothes.
