This is a completed plastic or resin display car model.
In 1930, the British Post Office wanted to promote and advertise air mail, so they set up a series of special mailboxes throughout the UK, and added one special vehicle for promotional purposes to their fleet. Both the mailboxes and the vehicle were painted blue, rather than the typical British postal red. The vehicle featured an exceptional design by the sculptor Maurice Prosper Lampert, who produced a rounded, curved body with a remarkably aerodynamic look and tail fins. The steel-plated car body was made by Duple Bodies and Motors Ltd, and painted bright blue with the Royal Mail logo on the doors. It was removed from service in 1938, repainted in red and started normal service.
