FuRyu brings Shinobu Oshino from the "Monogatari" series to their high-quality hobby Brand F:NEX as the newest entry into their "Japanese Doll" figure lineup!
Her expression is incredibly cute, with great attention paid to the details of her eyes, eyelashes, and pointy ears! The clear blush added to her cheeks makes her even more adorable.
The prototype of her elaborate costume was created by Ichimatsu doll maker Aklesaki Yamazaki. The kimono is smartly expressed, with its lines centered around the hem, and taking advantage of Shinobu's petite body line. The fabric of the kimono is dyed using the Kata Yuzen method by Nishimura Shoji Shoten, a long-established textile merchant in Kyoto. Shinobu's favorite food, donuts, are incorporated into the pattern for a delightful touch! The kimono is made with a luxurious fabric called rinzu, which has a ground pattern woven into it. The pattern on the fabric stands out even through the brightly dyed patterns for a sense of elegance.
The obi part of her outfit uses the traditional brocade technique to create three-dimensional floral patterns of various sizes; although it's small, it has the same thickness as actual obi material, and the luster and texture of the gorgeous fabric really brings out the bright colors of Shinobu's kimono.
