Virtual YouTuber Kizuna Ai gets a spectular new 1/4-scale figure from FuRyu, wearing a complex kimono outfit that's made with traditional Japanese techniques! Her beautiful green eyes and the flower decorations in her hair are painstakingly recreated from hand-drawn art; the prototype of her exquisite costume was made by the Ichimatsu doll maker Akisaki Yamazaki! He took advantage of this figure's unique body line to combine the fit of the kimono with the natural wrinkles to create a youthful look. The fabrics in her kimono were dyed at a factory in Kyoto by Nishimura Shoji Shoten, a long-established textile merchant, using traditional Japanese techniques -- the furisode with peony and cherry blossom patterns was dyed with 13 separate colors, and the furisode with hydrangea and butterfly patterns used 14 colors! A golden dye was included for a subtle gleaming touch that makes the patterns look especially luxurious. The obi was woven of a special fabric known as Kinzan, using threads of various colors including gold; the high-density pattern shows through even though it was woven on a small scale.
