This is an injection-plastic ship model kit.
The HMS Vendetta is a destroyer that was operated by the Australian Navy since 1933. Its operation began in 1917, during World War I. It was built as one of the Admiralty V-class and Admiralty W-class destroyers planned to compete with the German Imperial Navy. She was commissioned as a Royal Navy ship in 1917 and loaned to the Royal Australian Navy in 1933. After being active mainly in the Mediterranean Sea during World War II, she was deployed to the Pacific Theater and fought against the Japanese Navy. Her standard displacement is 1,090 tons and her total length is 312 feet. Her main gun is a 4-inch gun, and a 21-inch triple torpedo tube. She was decommissioned in 1945 after the end of World War II, as she had completed her role.
This model kit from Showcase is a full-hull version that accurately models the underside of the ship, with all details realistically reproduced. The upper deck structure features the bridge, chimney, and armament such as thee main gun and triple torpedo tubes for a dense finish. Photo-etched parts are included for the handrails and antenna parts, and decals are included that can be used to create many sister ships other than the Vendetta. A stand for display is included.
