This is an injection-plastic ship model kit.
This 1/350-scale model kit of the Project 667A Yankee-type nuclear ballistic missile submarine is a completely new mold! The Yankee class is a nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine (SSBN) that was planned as a successor to the Hotel-class nuclear submarine, and operated by the Soviet Navy. The Yankee name is based on the NATO code name; 34 of this type of ship were commissioned from 1967 to 1972. Unlike the Hotel-type R-13, this class was superior in that it did not need to rise to the surface, and could launch submersible-based ballistic missiles (SLBM) from underwater, but the R-27 on board/RSM-25's short range of 2,000km meant it had to move to a point where the enemy had air superiority and sea control. This type was designed based on various materials on the George Washington-class strategic nuclear submarine obtained through Soviet intelligence activities, so it has an appearance similar to that of the American George Washington-class strategic nuclear submarine.
This model kit includes photo-etched parts, a display stand, and decals. Place your order today!
