This is an injection-plastic ship model kit.
The largest warships in the world (aside from aircraft carriers), the Russian Navy's Kirov-class cruisers are both nuclear- and steam-propelled (the nuclear power is used for cruising, while a combination of nuclear and steam propulsion is used for acceleration). Originally intended to be anti-submarine vessels, the Kirov design was modified to allow these cruisers to provide air support, engage surface ships, and to act as anti-submarine naval defense. After the fall of the Soviet Union, the Kirov was renamed '"Admiral Ushakov" and remains under that name today.
Trumpeter's big kit of the Admiral Ushakov shows just how big these ships are, with the kit itself measuring a whopping 72 centimeters (28 inches) long in 1/350 scale! A full-hull kit, with the various hull numbers as seen over time (they weren't permanently assigned...check your references!). The box art actually shows a ship marked "Kirov," while the instructions and decals show the "Frunze"...confusing! Again, folks, check your references carefully when building this "Admiral Ushakov"! Includes a nice fret of photo-etched metal parts, a Ka-27 Helix helicopter, and a display stand.
