This is an injection-plastic ship model kit.
The Mikasa was made the flagship of the Japanese fleet in 1903, and led the fleet against the Russian Baltic Fleet in the Battle of Tsushima (the Japan Sea) in 1905, taking part in the now-world-famous "Togo Turn" that enabled the Japanese navy to virtually wipe out the Russian fleet in a very short time. This gorgeous injection plastic kit of the Mikasa allows you to bring into your home all the precise detail of the only surviving Japanese battleship in the world! Hasegawa's tooling provides a full hull split left and right, and a detailed structure, with crossbeams inside the hull to support the deck and provide a very stable construction. The funnels and the front and rear bridge are constructed separately and then installed on the completed deck. This is the Mikasa as she appeared in the Battle of Japan sea. Metal chain is included for the anchor chains; water-slide decals are included for markings. A display stand is also provided, and some water-slide decals for labelling the stand base are included. Rigging instructions are included (though rigging is not). The completed ship measures 37.9 cm long, 9 cm wide, 16.8 cm high.
This special release of the Mikasa includes an unassembled and unpainted white metal figure of naval officer Saneyuki Akiyama.
