This is an injection-plastic ship model kit.
From the manufacturer:
Yahagi was part of the "Center Force" in the Battle of Leyte Gulf when the Japanese tried to draw apart the American Navy and destroy it in detail. Thanks to a mixture of good seamanship, radar, and blind luck, however, the US Navy managed to defeat each of the attacking forces while protecting the landing forces. Despite the heavy combat it was involved in, Yahagi sustained almost no damage at Leyte and was expended with the rest of the fleet in Operation Ten Go.
Hasegawa’s excellent kit of the 1/350 IJN light cruiser Yahagi is back, this time she appears as she did during “The battle of the Leyte Gulf.” The detail of this kit is phenomenal, as on all of Hasegawa's recent 1/350 kits. Parts come molded in grey and includes a marking/painting/main rigging reference chart. This kit features searchlight parts and photo-etched parts. A full-hull model, with elegant display stands. Instructions are in Japanese and English.
