This special model kit from Dragon commemorates the 80th anniversary of the Kursk tank battle! This kit reproduces the early model of the Panther V, the D type, which is said to be the best German tank of World War II.

The Panther V is one of the best tanks developed and operated by the German Army in World War II. It featured the same tilted-armor body design as that of the T-34, a Soviet tank that was seen in the German-Soviet war; its main gun was a 70-caliber 7.5cm KwK42 tank gun, and used a Maybach V-type 12-cylinder engine. It was a tank with an excellent balance of mobility, offensive power, and defensive power. The first production type was the D type, and it made its debut in January 1943. From July 4th to Aug. 27th, 1943, the battle of Kursk, known as the largest tank battle in history between Germany and the Soviet Union, was its first battle, and while improvements continued, it was active in each front until the end of the war.

Dragon's latest model kit reproduces the early type of the Panther D type, which is said to be the best German tank of World War II. This kit models the vehicle of the 39th Tank Regiment, 52nd Tank Battalion that was active in the Kursk tank battle in 1943. The style is reproached with the high level of reality unique to Dragon, including the upper part of the hull that adopts the sloped armor design and the shape of the turret. Aluminum parts for the gun barrel are included, the muzzle brake is a 3D-printed part, and photo-etched parts are included for the engine deck. The lower part of the hull also has separate parts for the suspension arm. The crawler belt is a prefabricated Magic Track for ease of assembly; as bonus parts, a total of four infantry figures are also included to help you easily reproduce the scene in Kursk.
