This is an injection-plastic military vehicle model kit.
During World War II, the German Army was the first to develop and equip the Panzer III as an anti-tank vehicle. The first type, the A type, appeared in 1937, and after that, it played a role as a main battle tank while adding various improvements until the middle of the war. The J type was produced from 1941, and many types were made. The hull had front armor plating with a thickness of 50mm, and the rear engine deck was newly designed with an extended overall length. Initially, Hitler had instructed the main gun to have a long barrel of 5cm, but this was ignored in consideration of productivity. The 42-caliber 5cm tank gun KwK38L43 was installed, and production began. Hitler learned of this, and hurriedly developed and mounted a 60-caliber 5cm tank gun, KwK39L60. The J type was divided into the early type with a 42-caliber gun (1,549 produced), and the late type with a 60-caliber gun, of which 1,067 were produced.
This model kit from Dragon can be assembled as either the early version equipped with the 42-caliber gun, or the late model equipped with a 60-caliber gun. The lower part of the hull is an integral part made with a slide mold; the details on the underside and sides of the chassis are reproduced in detail, including weld marks. The torsion bar suspension and suspension arms are also reproduced individually for a three-dimensional effect, as are the rolling wheels and starting wheels. A prefabricated Magic Track is included to further enhance the sense of reality. The left and right fenders are separate parts with firmly expressed details; the engine deck hatches and gearbox access panels can be built opened or closed. The turret, which is made with a three-way slide mold, can be built opened or closed with side hatches. The two main gun barrels are included as well. Decals for a vehicle with a unit that participated in the Battle of Stalingrad are included. Order yours today!
