This is an injection-plastic military vehicle model kit.

A special unit called the Special Air Service (SAS) was created at the suggestion of Major David Stirling of the British Army in 1941. The purpose was to invade the enemy's camp in small groups, destroy aircraft, and perform missions such as reconnaissance and rearward disturbance. This group became famous in the North African Campaign with their great success in traversing the desert and attacking the supply lines and airfields of the German African Corps. The SAS was not only active in North Africa, but also on the European front, destroying 700 German vehicles and 164 railroad lines. The vehicle favored by SAS units is a four-wheel-drive 1/4-ton small military vehicle that was adopted in various Allied countries. With its excellent maneuverability and high reliability, it could be used as a combat vehicle with weapons as well as communication and transportation. Over 600,000 units of this masterpiece vehicle were produced by the end of the war. The SAS units modified these vehicles with machine guns, and by installing a large number of auxiliary fuel tanks, and they became a highly trusted companion for the SAS.

This model kit set from Dragon includes three 1/4-ton small military vehicles used by the SAS, an SAS commander and a total of seven soldiers. It reproduces the scene from a famous photograph with Major David Stirling, the creator of the SAS. The small differences between the three vehicles shown in the photo are carefully reproduced; the body of each vehicle is integrally molded using slide molds for both the floor and the upper part. The rudder frame chassis is modeled up to the front and rear suspension structures, and the engine under the hood is fully detailed too. Equipment unique to the SAS, such as the double Vickers K machine gun, the rear loading space, and the jerrycans mounted on the hood, are also included. The six SAS soldier figures are intensely detailed, with shorts worn with their tropical field clothing and their heads covered with keffiyeh cloths to protect them from the sun.
