The Vk100.01(P) K3382 is one of the earliest designs of the 100-ton class super-heavy tank, Maus. On June 4, 1942, the preliminary design of the Vk100.01(P) based on drawing number K3381 was presented. However, in response to Hitler's proposal that "a short-barrel gun is necessary to enhance defense against enemy infantry," a new preliminary design was submitted two weeks later, on June 17, with drawing number K3382. This design replaced the commander's cupola on the main turret with a turret equipped with a 75mm KwK L/24 gun. However, the addition of this turret increased the overall height to nearly 4 meters and the weight from 120 tons to 140 tons, which was considered to significantly impair mobility on rough terrain. Therefore, this plan was discarded.
