This is an injection-plastic field gun model kit.
The MIM-104 Patriot was deployed by the U.S. Army in 1981 as a successor to the Nike Hercules missile. In the 1991 Gulf War, it was used to destroy Iraqi Scud missiles. Since then, it has been updated frequently, and is deployed and used by not only the U.S., but also Japan's Self-Defense Forces and other countries around the world as a masterpiece surface-to-air missile system. The latest type with ballistic missile interception capabilities is the PAC-3. It is characterized by its compact operation, consisting of a launcher equipped with a container that holds the missile itself and a fire control device. It can often be seen in news footage.
This 1/35-scale model kit from Platz reproduces the MIM-104F Patriot SAM PAC-3, a Patriot missile system deployed and used in countries around the world. This model features a PAC-3SAM canister and the M901 launcher mounted on an M860 semi-trailer. The shape of the canister and its surface details are carefully reproduced; the M901 launcher and M860 semi-trailer are also duplicated in high detail. The parts of the elevation mechanism are also reproduced, and it is possible to assemble the canister with an angle of 38 degrees. The four stabilizer arms can be displayed in either open or raised position. Photo-etched parts by Eduard are included as well. You can enjoy displaying this mechanism as a single unit, or devise an entire scene around it -- order yours today!
