This is an injection-plastic figure set for use with military dioramas or individual display.
Although the T-70 light tank was clearly obsolete from the start of the war and failed to make the grade in the three areas that define good tank design (firepower, protection, and mobility), some 8,226 vehicles were produced by October 1943, and the T-70 remained in service until 1948. Not bad for an obsolete tank! The T-70 served with the Russian, Polish, and Czechoslovakian armies. The T-80 as modeled here was an improved version of the T-70, with a larger two-man turret. The T-80 was produced in very low numbers, as light tank production was being abandoned for heavier vehicles.
MiniArt's T-80 kit is sharply molded in flash-free light gray styrene. Details are crisp, and from all accounts the kit features superb fit and is quite easy to build. Tracks are non-workable injection-molded indy links. Includes clear parts for the light and periscopes. No markings are included, as these little guys never got any!
This special edition release of the kit features photo-etched metal detail parts.
