Description

This is an injection-plastic military vehicle model kit.

This version of the venerable 251-series halftrack, the workhorse of the Wehrmacht, was a special model designed for the Luftwaffe's elite Hermann Goering Armored Division. It mounted a 20mm Flak 38 anti-aircraft gun on a modified 251 chassis with fold-down sidewalls that allowed for a full 360 degrees of gun traverse. Only a very few of these special vehicles were built.

AFV Club adds to its ever-expanding universe of 251 variants with this excellent kit of the 251/17. The specialized fighting compartment is an all-new tooling, as is a newly designed, workable tow hitch system and rear mud guards. Fighting compartment sidewalls can be built either up or down. The 20mm Flak 38 parts are the excellent Tristar kit. Armored vision blocks can be assembled in open or closed positions. Includes photo-etched detail parts. The tracks are rendered as easy-to-use, highly detailed one-piece flexible belts. Markings are included for five vehicles.

So, with the release of this 251/17, are there any 251 variants left unkitted? The mind boggles!
